Christopher’s Diary

People said I was a star of Lourdes and have made it a joy to travel  a long side him. I want to go  again. Dave has made it amazing group  leader to travel.

When we went to the mountains we had the biggest snowball fight you could ever want! We slid down a big hill on our behinds and then had a walk around.  We had a drink in a café, I had Orangina.

That night we had the candlelight procession. You will see the most amazing light ever, and your feet will hurt so make sure you are wearing something comfortable. We sang rise and shine, and Ave Ave which is when you stick your candles in the air. We went to bed really late.

One night we had a party, I ate a lot and did a bit of dancing I was dressed up as a tardis.

The corks in another group had a party that kept me awake,  I wish I had some earplugs it would have come in handy.

On the second day of my adventure in Lourdes I ran out of credit on my phone, luckily I borrowed Clare’s phone and I made them a massive bill! (not really). And on the third day we went to the regional Mass, I did a bidding prayer in the church and it was very exhausting and terrifying as I thought everybody was going to laugh at me if I made a mistake. But I didn’t make a mistake and I read very, very well. I felt brave. Then Dave took us to a cafe and I had another Orangina. Then I switched to diet coke because they had drink stirrers (but I thought they were swords), then people started collecting loads for me and we sang lots of songs like “oh you’ll never get to heaven in a baked bean tin.”

I got some Lourdes water, which comes from the spring in the grotto. I found a stone age tool at the Cite Saint Pierre which I brought home to use as a paper weight. We saw a model of Lourdes with no buildings on. I also carried the banner in the big underground church where the whole of HCPT was there for Mass, but they could use it for an air-raid shelter! There is a man or a lady  that sings like an opera so get sum earplugs  and a gun. Not really that is a  joke so do not blame  me please you got the wrong idea so if she makes a loud noise run for it please don’t stay and scream.

If you come to Lourdes look out for Sean the helper bursting into song, do not be scared of him because he is harmless.

Mark and Jo were my helpers, and they are nice and they’ll make sure you’re okay and happy.

This is me and Jess I am singing rise and shine to her and she has got the big golden smile that I got onto her with my magic singing. And then she bit my nose!!!
That’s the basilica behind me, it looks like a Rocket. Mary is still looking at it to this day.
It has big solid bells which play Ave, Ave Ave Maria.
I was chucking snow into the river to see why it melts, as science tests! Jo and Sophie said “Do you want to see how quickly we can die of a heart attack, come away from the edge!” But I was safe, because I am an expert and it is shallow!

This is me looking at a waxed insect that had landed in my torch and is still there to this day.
